Another one happened near Carnation on Tuesday, Dec. 29
MONROE — On Monday, Dec. 28, a 3.1 magnitude earthquake that originated four miles south of Monroe was recorded around 2:40 a.m. and may have slightly shook homes in the general area. It was a shallow earthquake, with a depth recorded at 14 miles. Depth is tracked to ID future fault line activity.
Another small earthquake was noted near Carnation on Tuesday, Dec. 29.
July 2019’s magnitude-4.6 shallow quake, centered near Fryelands Boulevard and U.S. 2, was 13.5 miles in depth. The quake came just before 3 a.m. and woke people up. Minutes later, a 3.5-magnitude aftershock hit near Lord Hill Park.
