MONROE — The city of Monroe is looking for the public’s opinions on its parks to help shape what activities and features it includes in future park planning.
It’s launched a community-wide survey which will be available through Jan. 15.
The survey results will help guide upcoming discussions around park development, recreational sports priorities and trail paths for hiking and biking.
To take the survey in English: www.bit.ly/MonroeParks
or in Spanish: www.bit.ly/Parques-de-Monroe.
As a way of supporting survey participation, all resident participants will also qualify for a raffle drawing. Two $50 gift certificates will be distributed at random.
The survey is a building block for the city’s larger Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Plan.
The entire planning process has four phases: Inventory, Assessment, Strategies, and Action Plan. It is expected to be completed in December 2021. There will be several public outreach opportunities to get the community’s input to shape the priorities of the plan, but the city notes that participating in the survey ensures a strong start to the process.
