SHS Serpentine slinks through Friday Sept. 27

SNOHOMISH — If viewed from above, four streets of Snohomish will appear to be meandered by a red and white snake. The 10:45 to 11:15 a.m. Serpentine event is Sept. 27, on the last day of Homecoming week. Travelers in the city should make plans, because Panther Pride will disrupt traffic flow near the high school, and into downtown Snohomish on First Street. Drivers should plan for tricky parking and blocked- off roads on the route.
The event starts late morning and continues to about 11:15 when students return to campus.
The Serpentine route begins by heading east on Fifth Street to Union Avenue, then veering south onto Union. The group then kinks west on Third Street, then south on Avenue A and down the hill to First Street. They head west and turn at Avenue E.
The Serpentine is part of Homecoming week. The week is capped off with the homecoming game at 7 p.m. on Friday at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Snohomish, where the Panthers will challenge the Everett Seagulls.
