Drug suspects arrested at Snohomish's Pilchuck Park

SNOHOMISH —  A man and woman in a black SUV at Pilchuck Park were charged with possession, manufacture, and intent to deliver methamphetamine and opiates among other charges after a July 17 incident triggered by citizen reports.
Deputies were responding to a report of suspicious circumstances at 169 Cypress Ave. Witnesses saw one vehicle and then another approach the black SUV and make an exchange before leaving the park, according to Police Department reports.
The suspects were a 37-year-old man from Stanwood and a 30-year-old female from Snohomish.
Deputies obtained a search warrant to recover evidence of drug paraphernalia including a spoon recognized by law enforcement as one “commonly used to prepare heroin” as well as other items specific to the use of controlled substances. Approximately 80 pills were found during the search, along with a bottle labeled “oxycodone,” cash, and a list of names with information on funds paid and funds still owed.
A deputy wrote that it appeared the female had just gotten dressed outside of the vehicle at the time of their contact. The two suspects were asked their names, and the male gave the deputy a false one. The deputy asked the suspect why he gave a false name and the man said he had family looking for him and did not want anyone to know he was in town.
While the deputy interviewed the female suspect, he observed a clear glass device with a substance in it on the seat of the vehicle. The device was located where the male suspect had been sitting,

The two were charged with manufacture, delivery and possession of methamphetamine, and opiates for which they had no prescription.
They were also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as possession with intent to sell both substances. The male was additionally charged with providing false information to a public servant.
A gun — a hunting rifle — was also retrieved as evidence from inside the Ford Expedition SUV. It was not clear if anyone was charged for having the gun.
The male suspect was released to fire department personnel for medical care that day after reporting chest pains. The deputy was informed that the suspect had a history of heart issues.
