Gun used in late evening robbery in Snohomish

Latest update, Tuesday, Feb. 21: The department is continuing to work the case, Department Administrative Sgt. Christopher Ventjeer told the City Council Tuesday, Feb. 21.

SNOHOMISH —
Just before 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, deputies responded to a robbery in the 900 block of the Riverfront Trail in Snohomish. Four adults were walking on the trail when they were approached by an unknown man who pointed a handgun at the group and demanded the two women’s purses. Once the suspect gained possession of the purses, he fled the area on foot. Deputies responded to the area and a K-9 team attempted to track the suspect but was unable to locate him.
The victims were not injured. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately six feet tall, wearing a blue jacket, black pants, red shoes and carrying a black handgun.
Deputies have probable cause to arrest the suspect for first-degree robbery.
Anyone with information related to the investigation is asked to contact the Snohomish Police Department's Administrative Sgt. Chris Ventjeer at christopher.veentjer@snoco.org.
Afterhours tips can be called into the non-emergency line 425-407-3999.
