EVERETT — On paper, the buyer of the shuttered Epic Ford dealership is an LLC with a jumbled acronym for a name, but underneath it shares a corporate office to Kendall Automotive Group, one of the region’s largest auto dealer groups.
The purchase price was $13.3 million for the site at 52nd and Evergreen Way by a company named SPBFA LLC, county land transaction records show.
Kendall Auto’s corporate office didn’t respond to confirm or deny whether they are affiliated with SPBFA LLC.
Reached by phone, Kendall’s in-house attorney last week couldn’t comment.
The LLC’s address is the same as Kendall Auto Group’s corporate office in Meridian, Idaho. Kendall has a number of other companies involved in car sales and car financing which are registered to that office’s address, a reporter traced through state records.
Kendall is growing in Washington state, and sells for multiple auto manufacturers.
In early 2020, Kendall bought Marysville Ford, and the following year bought Roy Robinson Subaru and Roy Robinson Chevrolet also in Marysville. Kendall says it has 21 automakers at 48 dealerships across five states in the Pacific Northwest.
Epic Ford was owned and operated by Swickard Auto Group based in Oregon.
Three major auto manufacturers without a dealer today in Everett are Ford, Subaru and Volvo.
