Monroe’s Fair Days Parade rolls Aug. 27

MONROE — Floats, equestrian groups, marching bands, classic cars and more will amble down Main Street for the annual Fair Days Parade Saturday, Aug, 27.
The 84th annual parade begins at 11 a.m. rain or shine.
Grab a viewing spot in downtown. In past years, the parade ran on Main Street as far west as Blakeley Street (before Lewis).
Hundreds of spectators come out to cheer on neighbors and friends.
Come early to visit the vendor fair going on at Frank Wagner Elementary, 639 W. Main St., 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Fair Days Parade helps celebrate the opening days of the Evergreen State Fair and is put on by the Monroe Chamber of Commerce. The fair is in swing Aug. 25 - 30 and Sept. 1-5 (closed Aug. 31).

Road closure
West Main Street from Park Place Middle School, 179th Avenue SE and Lewis Street will be closed Aug. 27 from approximately 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the parade. There will be no parking on Main Street or Village Way.
Detours will be set up with alternative routes utilizing 179th Avenue SE to get around the parade closure.
