At Pie Dive, new Snohomish bar’s hallmark is pies

SNOHOMISH — The newest bar on First Street is making pies its centerpiece.
Pie Dive Bar has overhauled the space at 921 First St., which was vacant for over a year after Time Out sports bar shuttered. Years ago, this was Sandy’s Roadkill Bar & Grill; further back, Chub’s Pub.
Now, it’s been redone with a full commercial kitchen.
Piemaker Alyssa Kingsbery and bartender Hart Kingsbery are the married pair running the show. Both have years of experience in their fields; Alyssa, from Snohomish, operated pie bars in Woodinville and Seattle.
Pie Dive’s food menu has both dessert pies and six types of meat pot pies. All are made in-house. A one-fifth portion of a meat pie plus a salad is $13.
It has a full bar. “Our liquor selection is pretty curated,” Hart Kingsbery said.
Outside of working on the interior, the building itself needed a lot of remedial work after they signed the lease in October, Hart Kingsbery said.
Pie Dive Bar’s daily hours run from 3 p.m. into the late evening (closed on Mondays). They plan to run their food menu “as late as we possibly can,” Hart Kingsbery said. They are thinking about serving hearty food to-go from a window as late as 2 a.m. on the weekends.
Pie Dive’s grand opening was May 3.
