Being short on time, Snohomish to
skip citywide National Night Out event
SNOHOMISH — Snohomish will skip this year when it comes to holding a citywide National Night Out event Tuesday, Aug. 3, organizers affirmed.
The sheriff’s office will be holding a National Night Out event at Willis Tucker Park, 6705 Puget Park Drive, that evening.
Snohomish Police community outreach officer Rich Niebusch emphasized that the department wants to put together a professional event, and ran out of time to set it up. Other logistical challenges posed trouble, too, while the uncertain state of COVID-19 restrictions delayed deciding whether to arrange the event.
The Police Department is still looking to host a Police Department open house event this fall, Niebusch said at last week’s Public Safety Commission meeting. The police open house is often popular with families,
The Tribune will be publishing information on all area National Night Out events in an upcoming edition.
