Former Everett mayor Robert C. Anderson dies

EVERETT —  Robert C. “Bob” Anderson, who helmed the mayor’s seat for nine years, died peacefully at his Seattle home July 8 a few days before his 92nd birthday.
Elected in 1968, he helped usher in the Boeing 747 and also weathered the 1971 Boeing bust. He resigned in 1977 for a bank job. A year later, he was appointed as director of the state Department of Commerce and Economic Development.
