“Battle of the Banks” supports Snohomish food bank

SNOHOMISH —  A dollar here and a dollar there from the community can make a difference, which how the Battle of the Banks started.
It’s a friendly fundraiser among hometown banks to collect money for the Snohomish food bank.
Four banks are collecting money through Dec. 18.
This year’s entrants are the Snohomish branches of Coastal Community Bank (928 Ave. D), First Financial Northwest Bank (17512 State Route 9, Clearview), Pacific Premier Bank (1101 Ave. D in Kla Ha Ya Village shopping center) and Peoples Bank (inside Fred Meyer at Snohomish Station on Bickford).
The participating banks are affiliated with the Snohomish Chamber of Commerce and are aiming to win
recognition for collecting the most donations and for having the nicest decorated bank lobby.
This year, the banks are collecting money only, not food. It helps the food bank buy food in bulk.
For an easy way to donate, write a check for “Snohomish Community Food Bank” and hand it to a teller at a participating bank, Chamber manager Pam Schilaty said. You do not need to have an account at the bank to donate.
