High School graduation events in Snohomish next week

SNOHOMISH — Due to COVID-19 the class of 2020 had a not so traditional senior year, graduation celebrations will also be different.
In support of the 2020 Glacier Peak seniors, parent organizers have planned a car parade for Sunday, June 14. Students are encouraged to decorate their vehicles accordingly. The parade route begins at Safeway, off 132nd Place, in the back parking lot at noon and will be a three and half mile loop through Gold Creek, The Falls, and Silver Firs. Parents are encouraged to line the roads with signs, decorations and noise makers.
For more information regarding the GP class of 2020 car parade as well as a map of the route please visit the 2020 Grizzlies page on Facebook.
In support of the 2020 SHS and AIM graduates, a community member has organized a graduation spirit week. These events are not Snohomish School District or city of Snohomish sponsored events.
Graduation spirit week begins Monday, June 15, with “paint the town panther red.” Organizers are asking for local businesses to decorate store fronts and doors in red and white.
Tuesday’s theme is “spread the red” and instead of decorating local businesses organizers are asking for houses to be decorated in the same red and white fashion.
“We love you Wednesday” is on June, 17, graduates who arrive at specific local businesses, wearing their graduation cap, get a discount or free item. Information regarding businesses is on the “Snohomish Spirit 2020” Facebook page.
Wednesday is also “What’s next Wednesday,” where seniors are encouraged to post their after high school plans on the Facebook page.
Thursday will be the social distance serpentine, all graduating seniors are invited to join this event. The serpentine will be held in cars, those participating are asked to decorate their cars and wear panther gear.
