SNOHOMISH — Little Cedars Elementary is reconciling from the loss of second grade teacher Kathy Jenks, whose body was found near the 6300 block of Snohomish Cascade Drive last week.
“Her death is a profound loss to our Little Cedars Elementary family, our school district and to the Snohomish community. Mrs. Jenks loved kids and was passionate about helping them reach their full potential,” the school’s principals wrote in a letter to families.
Jenks taught at Little Cedars Elementary since the 2017 school year. Prior to that, she worked as a teacher in the Shoreline School District for 27 years.
Her body was discovered Wednesday, Jan. 15 by someone walking in the area.
The county medical examiner determined she died of hypothermia and her death was accidental. Snow fell across the region during the days she was missing.
