Body found in Everett woods called a homicide

EVERETT —  Police have stated that the body found Jan. 4 in a wooded area in the 1800 block of 41st Street was a homicide.
On Jan. 7 the Snohomish County Medical Examiner performed an autopsy to determine the cause of death, and determined it was a homicide, Everett Police spokeswoman Sgt. Maryjane Hacker said.
Hacker encouraged anyone with information to speak up, no matter how small. "Let us determine the value of information," as what may seem insignificant can help in the investigation, Hacker said.
Police have released information that the deceased was identified as 46-year-old Michael T. Boon of Everett and police say he is believed to be homeless. His homelessness status was determined because Boon had a mailing address at the Everett Gospel Mission Men's Shelter, Hacker said.
His body was found near the northwest corner of Evergreen Cemetery.
His death appears to be an isolated incident, Hacker said.
The Everett Police Major Crimes Unit is investigating.
Anyone with information about this incident or can identify a person of interest is asked to call the Everett Police Department TIP LINE at 425-257-8450 or Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS.
