U.S. 2 trestle closures continue over next two weekends

SNOHOMISH COUNTY — Drivers heading west between the Lake Stevens area and Everett in August need to adjust their plans.
Crews will close all lanes of westbound U.S. 2 on the Hewitt Avenue trestle from 7 p.m. Friday Aug. 10 to 4 a.m. Monday Aug. 13 and then again from Friday Aug. 17 to Monday, Aug. 20.
Ramps to westbound U.S. 2 from state Route 204 and 20th Street Southeast will also be closed. This weather-dependent work will provide a smoother ride and also help preserve the pavement. Crews will be working on the west end of the trestle, between Homeacres Road and the Interstate 5 interchange. Travelers must detour onto state Route 9 with options to go northbound to state Route 528 in Marysville or southbound to state Route 96 or Cathcart Way.
