Duane SmithDuane “Butch” Smith
Feb 19, 1933 – Sept 29, 2017
Butch passed away peacefully on September 29, 2017 at the age of 84. He joins his brother Deb, sisters Dorothy and Dee.
He leaves behind his wife Patricia - “Patty” – of 48 years, sisters Donna, Dale Joan and many nieces and nephews.
Butch was born in Snohomish and spent his entire life in the Snohomish area. He always played with toy cars, trucks and machinery which became his lifetime love and allowed him to play with the “Big Ones” through his lifetime working in the forestry and trucking business.
Butch had a dry sense of humor. Quiet in his own way but always got his point across. He was always there to lend a helping hand to family and friends.
He served 2 years in the US Army during the Korean Conflict in Germany.
Butch and Patty were involved in a longtime Friendship Club, Whirly Birds Square Dance Club, as well as many camping and motorhome trips with friends.
Celebration of Butch’s Life will be held on Saturday October 21, at 1 PM at Bauer Funeral Home 701 1st Street in Snohomish.
