Ada Jane Walbrun passed peacefully on January 14th 2017 after losing her battle with the flu and pneumonia. Many family members were by her side throughout her last day.
She was born to Ted and Ada Irish on December 9, 1929 in Sultan, Washington and remained a lifetime resident. On June 30, 1946, upon his return from active duty, she married Rudie Walbrun. Together they built the family home on their property along the Wallace River, where they raised their five children, Richard (Joan) of Stanwood, Nickolas (Kris) of Custer, Lucinda Lu (Ron) Stever of Lake Stevens, Randy (Kathy) of Snohomish, and Candace Felt of Mukilteo.
Preceding her in death were her father and mother, husband Rudie of 58 years and son Richard. She is survived by her brother Merton Irish, Sultan, grandchildren, Ron (Leslie) Stever Jr., Ryan (Hellena) Stever, Robert (Lindsay) Walbrun, Keith (Natalie) Walbrun, Tessa (Mike) Boccongelle, April (Matt) DeSpain-Tonjes, Angie (Darryl) Mcnielly, Jacob (Toni) Walbrun, Matt Walbrun, Michael Walbrun, Chris (Toni) Walbrun, Rudy Walbrun, James Hjelm, Dave Hjelm, 21 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
During her life she was an active member of the Sultan VFW, Woman’s Improvement Club, Garden Club, Sultan PTA, Cub Scout Den Mother and Campfire Girl Leader. We will miss her dry “English” humor, her ability to listen without taking sides. Most of all we will miss her support and love. Graveside services will be held at 12 pm January 28 at the Sultan Cemetery followed by a reception at the Sultan Fern Bluff Grange. In lieu of Flowers donations can be sent to the Noah Center of Stanwood.
