EVERETT — Sunday, April 3 marks the last day of public skating at the venerable rink in Silver Lake, with one last hoorah happening April 9.
For more than 60 years, people all around have come for a good time, but the Skate Deck will be closing the doors for good to as the site will be redeveloped. The owners would like to reopen again elsewhere someday to create new memories. More on this story...

EVERETT — The Snohomish County PUD is looking to build a new solar panel array in South Everett next to Walter E. Hall Park on Casino Road on leased city land. The City Council will discuss at a public hearing March 30. The money that the PUD would save by generating electricity here will be donated into its program to help people with their utility bills, known as Project Pride.

First Street mural refreshed again

Local artist Angelique Foley finished up a new mural at the corner of First Street and Avenue C late last month of hot air balloons over a placid valley. “I created it after the wonderful Snohomish hot air balloons that go up in the warmer weather. They are so exciting and beautiful to see. The balloons always make me smile,” Foley told the Tribune, and that the piece “allowed me to use the whole rainbow.”
Foley said the mural is a large-scale recreation of an award-winning canvas piece she made; she called it an honor “to be able to recreate it on a large scale for my hometown of Snohomish to see.”

Now, the chiropractor's fate will be decided by a judge instead of a jury, and the settlement reduced the number of criminal counts he is charged with. A judge approved the agreement Thursday, Jan. 6.
